Kona Bike: Jordan Rapp’s Specialized S-Works Shiv

Jordan Rapp said he wouldn’t ever do Kona unless he felt like he had a legitimate shot at grabbing the world title. He’s a threat to take the win and his opponents know it. He has a proven weapon, the Specialized Shiv– the same bike that Craig Alexander rode to capture his third Ironman World title. Rapp’s bike is outfitted with SRAM components, Zipp wheels, and a Quarq powermeter.

Yup, this is Jordan Rapp’s bike.

Rapp uses a Gorilla bottle cage in the back and is using the new SRAM Red cassette.

These are Zipp R2C shifters.

Rapp uses a Zipp bottle cage up front and has slightly modded the cage so that it holds a bottle more snuggly.

There are some obvious signs of use on the brakes.

The new SRAM Red front derailleur is a huge upgrade over the previous generation.

A Quarq powermeter lets Rapp precisely monitor is efforts and power output.

Rapp runs a 55T chainring on the front.

He uses Zipp 808 Firecrest Carbon Clinchers.

Rapp is vocal about his support for World Bicycle Relief.
