The Nike Colorado Blood Bag Campaign by Saatchi & Saatchi Brazil might be one of the most poorly timed ad campaigns ever. In Brazilian context, the ad works. The expression, “give the blood,” is used when a person does something with an extraordinary amount of passion. Outside of Brazil, the ad doesn’t really work; especially with the recent Lance Armstrong doping allegations. In the United States and many other countries, people are going to see this advertisement almost making fun of the drug testing process– even though it has nothing to do with drug testing.
